An interesting pair of practice session with a tumultuous day for the home hero…

Red Bull – After ten minutes of running, Verstappen’s FP1 came to an end with gearbox failure. His FP2 wasn’t great either with P8. Perez was P7 and P12.

Ferrari – A strong FP2 with a 1-2 for Ferrari after a lesser FP1 with cars in P3 and P6 with Sainz ahead.

Mercedes – Russell shockingly topped the first session for the first time since the Sakir GP in 2020. Lewis also performed well with P2 in FP1 and P3 in FP2.

McLaren – Surprisingly strong for McLaren with Norris P4 in both sessions and Ricciardo P5 in FP1 and P10 with damage in FP2.

Alpine – The team of the moment were consistent but not astounding with Ocon P9 in both sessions with Alonso P7 and P8.

Williams – Opposing performances in FP1 with Albon P10 and Latifi last and slower on the soft than Max on the hard almost an hour earlier. P17 and P20 in FP2.

Haas – A decent start to the weekend for Haas with P11 and P13 for Schumacher with Magnussen taking P13 and P19.

Aston Martin – A standard performance for team Silverstone with Stroll in P12 and P6 (shock in FP2). Vettel was P14 and P15.

AlphaTauri – The disappointing season continues with Tsunoda bringing out the red flag in FP2 and coming P17 and P11 in the sessions. Gasly was P14 and P16.

Alfa Romeo – Another normal day with Bottas in P18 in the two sessions and Zhou was P16 and P15.
